REAP Plan: What Needs Doing?

Documents

The Collaborative's Board has devoted the year 2009 to holding meetings on the variety of topics touched upon in earlier planningn documents. We are aiming to hold monthly meetings on a wide variety of topics. The outcome of these meetings will inform a re-writing of the REAP Plan.

The REAP planning document (outlining the conditions in the area and approaches to improving them) is available on the web through a Table of Contents. The complete Strategic Plan document (original or re-formatted version) can be downloaded as a PDF file, viewed and (if desired) printed. The draft Work Plan and a Visioning Report from the Visioning Session (see below) are also available as PDF files. PDF files can be viewed and printed using the Adobe Acrobat Reader, available for free download from Adobe's web site.

Background Information on the REAP Plan

The Collaborative applied to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) for a REAP designation. The application was approved in November, 2000. The designation has since been re-approved, and currently stands to be in place until x xx, 2xxx. Having this designation gives weight when Northeast Kingdom organizations and communities apply for grants. The Collaborative initiated a Planning effort and set up Task Force Committees to develop and write the plan that accompanied that application.

Visioning Session

Before hearing about and applying for REAP designation, the Collaborative sponsored a community Visioning Session in Lyndonville on March 27, 1999. About 120 people participated. The results are summarized in a Visioning Statement. The Visioning Statement served as a guide for the creation of a REAP plan. A longer Visioning Report is available as a PDF file.
