November 3, 2010

Dear Chamber Member:

The Lyndon Area Chamber of Commerce is proud and excited to launch our new program called Leadership Lyndon.

Our mission at Leadership Lyndon is to mentor the next generation of Community Leaders. Our intent is to teach, and work, with individual young charismatic men and women in our community to be business and civic entrepreneurs. These individuals will then be poised to work as a group, and with the current structure of leaders, to facilitate change and to ask the tough question “How do we get from where we have been to where we need to be?” We want to give our young leaders a reason to stay local and be proud of keeping their talents in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. When you unleash a leader, extraordinary things happen!

Our program will launch its first season of classes on Tuesday, January 11, 2011. There will be ten classes in total and will conclude with a graduation ceremony on July 9, 2011. Each class will be an all-day event that includes, breakfast, lunch and an end-of-day social. Classes will be held in both classroom settings and traveling sessions to area businesses, educational or municipal sites. Classes will be based on Town Government, Finance, Education, Agriculture, Health & Human Services, Service Organizations – both private and public, Business – Big & Small, Tourism and the Arts. Tuition for a student in the class of 2011 will be $ 795.00.

Does this program spark your interest? At what level would you like to participate in this program? There are many ways you, or your business, could be involved with this mission:

•	Are you interested in bringing your expertise to the classroom to teach?
•	Are you interested in tuitioning a student from your business to the class?
•	Are you interested in sponsoring a student for the class?
•	Are you interested in giving a monetary donation, or sponsoring a breakfast, luncheon or dinner to the program?

We hope that this program inspires the leader in all of us to make our communities that much stronger, and to bring new visions of growth and prosperity to our futures.

Thank you for your time and we look forward to your feedback in our new endeavor.

Sincerely,

Steve Nichols
President of the Lyndon Area Chamber of Commerce

Welcome to the NEK Collaborative's brand-new Forums section of the web site. This function is new to our site; we'll be learning as we go. Currently the Forum section is set up so that you must register in order to be able to submit your comments to a Forum. This will let us have some control over the content that appears on the site. The registration process is not working properly yet. Please register. You will not get the email that you're supposed to get, but you will be added to the users. Then send an email to (sigurd at hughes dot net) and if you have a preferred password for the site, send that to me so I can set it. We realize this is cumbersome, and hope we can make this an easier process soon.
